271 institutions from 30 European countries call for the recognition of the role of European University Alliances to support Europe's competitiveness in the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework

271 institutions from 30 European countries have co-signed a joint statement calling on the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament to explicitly recognise the role of the European University Alliances in the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework and the European Competitiveness Fund.

This joint statement builds on the initiative launched by France Universités and rolled out across Europe through the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice. It reaffirms the role of the European University Alliances in strengthening the European Education Area, the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.

The signatories reaffirm that these Alliances contribute to strengthening Europe’s competitiveness, sovereignty and skills. They call on the European institutions to explicitly recognise and support their role and potential in the legislative texts currently under discussion.
